Saturday, July 18, 2009, 5-9pm Downtown White Salmon, Washington
Do you enjoy ART? Do you enjoy WINE? Then you will enjoy downtown White Salmon, Washington, on the 3rd Saturday in July, when the Nights in White Salmon Art and Wine Fusion brings together the best art and the best wine of the Columbia River Gorge.
In keeping with this year's "River" theme, we're planning a raft of enrichments to make this always-popular event one you shouldn't miss. As with past events, White Salmon shops will host:
- Gorge artists displaying and demonstrating their work;
- award-winning Gorge wineries offering tastings of some of their best wines;
- food and music to compliment the art and wine, so you can savor and sate all your appetites at the same time.
New for this year's event, Jewett Blvd will be closed to traffic, allowing:
- more artists and exhibitors to set up street booths to showcase their work;
- White Salmon's new microbrewery, Everybody's Brewing, to set up a beer garden for your added enjoyment;
- a number of kid-focused, family-friendly activities;
- the "White Salmon Slalom," a kayaks-on-wheels team slalom competition up Jewett just before the main event (arrive by 4:30 to enjoy this wild prelude to a relaxing evening!);
- more food, more music, dance demonstrations, roving entertainers;
- a full evening of pleasure in safe surroundings!
The Art & Wine Fusion takes place the same weekend as the popular Trout Lake Festival of the Arts at The Farm B&B, about 15 miles north of White Salmon. Plan on devoting a relaxing and enjoyable weekend with some of the best art, wine, activities, and beauty the Washington side of the Columbia River Gorge has to offer.
Check back for updated information as it develops, including venues, wineries, artists, performers, food vendors, and sponsors.
The Art & Wine Fusion is produced by the White Salmon Arts Council, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to promoting local arts, artists, and communities through art-inspired programs, events, educational opportunities, and marketing relationships with local businesses.
